All European units within the Åkers group are identified as downstream users.
Identification of substances and preparations is made in order to secure pre-registration in REACH before 1 December 2008. The pre-registration will be made by Åkers or the suppliers used by the company.
Identification of substances subject to authorization will be made. If such substance is found, Åkers will do its outmost to eliminate it. If not possible, regulation of use will be followed and communicated with supplier. If such substance is included in an article the customer will be informed.
The main benefit of the REACH regulation is that it more systematically identifies hazards and risks of chemicals.
