Partnership for skills development

A cooperation agreement has been signed between Åkers Sweden and Lärcentrum in Strängnäs municipality. Lärcentrum is to provide customized courses for Åkers Sweden. These will mostly take place on site at Åkers Sweden, but some may also take place at Lärcentrum, at Campus Strängnäs.

"This is a useful agreement that is important for our employees. Developing the skills of our personnel in times such as these is an investment for the future when the economic situation begins to improve again. Our employees can be prepared for new requirements and also be given new opportunities," says Kerstin Konradsson, MD of Åkers Sweden.

Lärcentrum is striving to meet the needs of working life with all its courses and it is very important to have good interaction with companies and other employers.

"Through the partnership with Åkers Sweden we can be of use by meeting the needs that exist for skills development, and we believe that such a partnership will also lead to knowledge exchange that benefits all parties. As a municipal teaching center it is essential to be able to function as a support service in matters relating to training and development in both good times and bad. The company gains access to expertise that we can offer either from within our own organization or through the instructors we work with. The arrangement chosen by Åkers Sweden is particularly interesting and allows the employees to combine training with everyday practical experience," says Birgitta Frid, Director of Lärcentrum.

The courses are already available and include Electrical know-how for operators, CNC technology, Welding training, Reading drawings and Computer know-how.
