The basic component in all of our rolls is metal. Be it iron or steel, the raw materials we use come from metal scrap and ferro-alloys.
The melting process is carefully carried out, combining a mixture of different scrap qualities which optimizes melting times and homogeneity.
The raw material is melted in electric furnaces. We mainly use induction furnaces for iron and electric arc furnaces for steel.
When casting rolls, alloys are added in the melting phase.
When making forged rolls, ferro-alloys are added in a secondary refining furnace. This is followed by degassing. Throughout the entire process we carefully monitor hydrogen levels.
